FAQs

What donations are eligible to receive socks?

Anyone who donates $30 (or more) during this campaign through October 31, 2026, will receive a pair of limited-edition CMSRU socks. All gifts must be made online through this campaign page in order to qualify for the sock incentive.

What if I already made a gift this year? Will I still receive a pair of socks?

This is a special, limited-time campaign. If you would like a pair of socks, please make a gift through our SOCKtober Campaign page by October 31.

What is a Bundle Perk?

A Bundle Perk includes two pairs of socks: this year's 2026 CMSRU design and a previous-year CMSRU design.  Simply select a Bundle Perk and make a gift of $60 (or more) to receive both pairs.

How will my contribution from the sock campaign be used?

Your contribution from the "SOCKtober campaign" will go directly to the CMSRU Dean's Fund (Annual Fund), which will provide essential student resources for future physicians. Thanks to you, our medical students will have the opportunities and assistance they need to succeed!

Can I send the socks to a student, relative, or friend?

Yes, you can! Just make sure the mailing address is within the U.S., and select "ship to someone else" to provide the shipping address.

Can my socks be shipped internationally?

No. Unfortunately, we are unable to ship internationally. Only U.S. addresses will be able to receive the socks.

When can I expect to receive the socks?

All socks should be delivered by Thanksgiving.

What is the size and material of the socks?

All socks are unisex, and one size fits most. They are made with 75% Cotton, 21% Nylon, and 4% Lycra.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. You will receive a tax receipt e-mail after you make a gift. However, please note that there was an exchange of goods and services upon your donation. Your gift receipt will exclude the value of the gift item(s). If you have questions about the deductibility of your gift, please consult your tax advisor.
