Description
The Rowan Rocketry team is engaged in the process of designing, building, and launching a rocket capable of reaching 10,000 ft at the 2027 International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC).
This work is part of a Junior/Senior Engineering Clinic, serving as a translation of knowledge gained during the undergraduate curriculum into a hands-on engineering project.
The funds from this campaign will go towards two major components: the construction of this year's launch vehicle and the construction of a long-term test-bed vehicle. Rowan Rocketry's launch vehicle is the most technically complex yet, with a full fiberglass construction, student-researched-and-developed (SRAD) flight computers, and airbrakes to precisely target a chosen altitude. These cutting-edge features contribute to the majority of the project costs. Additionally, the team intends to develop a secondary vehicle to conduct test launches in order to verify SRAD components before the competition.
